Artist biography

Tallulah Hutson was born and raised in London before leaving for Florence, Italy, to train in figure drawing and portraiture at Charles H. Cecil Studios in 2019. After 2 years, Tallulah returned to London to continue evolving her practice from her studio with The Bomb Factory Art Foundation. Tallulah has been a resident artist with the Foundation since 2021, travelling to New York from October – December 2023 to participate in an 8-week intensive residency. She began her Master’s in Painting at the Royal College of Art, London, in 2024 and will graduate in September 2025.

Tallulah’s work will be shown at the National Portrait Gallery, London, from July 10th - October 12th in the Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer Portrait Award exhibition (formerly known as the BP Portrait Award). Her first solo show, Flowers on the underground, was at the Bomb Factory Art Foundation Archway Gallery from 26th September - 19th October 2024. She previously exhibited at the Bomb Factory Foundation Marylebone Gallery as well as at Greatorex Street, the RCA Hangar Gallery and in the group show Falling Leaves from Babel at Uncool Artist, New York. Two of Hutson’s works were selected as finalists across three categories in the Art Renewal Centre's 16th International ARC Salon Competition in 2023, with two works selected as semi-finalists across 3 categories the same year.
